What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by websites to remember preferences, track activity, or manage sessions.
Cookies We Use
SyncFlow uses Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js) to collect anonymous usage statistics. This helps us understand which features are popular, identify bugs, and improve the tool. GA4 uses the following cookies:
- _ga — Used to distinguish unique users (expires after 2 years)
- _ga_<container-id> — Used to persist session state (expires after 2 years)
- _gid — Used to distinguish users (expires after 24 hours)
- _gat_gtag_<container-id> — Used to throttle request rate (expires after 1 minute)
These cookies are set only after you interact with the page. SyncFlow does not use any advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies.
What Data Google Analytics Collects
Google Analytics records anonymized data including: page views, time on page, browser type, device type, approximate geographic region (city level), and feature interactions within SyncFlow. No video content, subtitle text, audio data, or personal identifiers (name, email, address) are ever sent to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics & Privacy
Google's use of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy. You can learn more about Google Analytics' data practices at Google's Safeguarding Your Data page.
Local Storage
SyncFlow uses your browser's localStorage (not cookies) for a single purpose: remembering your dark/light theme preference. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to any server.
How to Control or Delete Cookies
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings:
- Chrome/Edge: Settings → Privacy → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Cookies and website data
To opt out of Google Analytics entirely, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Third-Party Fonts
SyncFlow loads font files from Google Fonts. Google may log your IP address when the fonts are requested. This is standard web infrastructure behavior. Refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.
Cloudflare Hosting
As part of standard web serving, Cloudflare processes basic HTTP request data (IP address, browser type, request timestamps). Cloudflare's use of data is governed by their own privacy policy.
Changes to This Policy
If SyncFlow's cookie usage changes in the future, this page will be updated accordingly.
